HP Inc. executive Doug Warner is coming to the Yale campus on Wednesday, February 1 for a series of engagements with campus groups. He starts at 12 noon, with a talk aimed at the profession IT staff community entitled Driving Disruptive Innovation: Practical Lessons from History and Future Mega-Trends. At 4pm he is the guest at a Branford College Tea, speaking with students on the topics of innovation and technical strategy.
Doug Warner is HP, Inc’s Vice President and Global Head of Technology Vision, Strategy and Incubations. He is a passionate business strategist, business development and entrepreneurial leader, with broad experience designing, incubating and growing new businesses in start-up and large organizations across geographies. At HP he manages a diverse cross-functional group of teams that help create and drive HP’s technology vision through to corporate technology strategy in both existing and new business / white space areas. He also oversees HP’s New Business Incubator, a group he created to enable HP to use lean-startup approaches to validate and incubate new business opportunities.
Doug joined HP in 2001 and has held a variety of corporate, executive and business unit functional roles. His specialty has been focusing on the ‘analog to digital’ disruption of legacy markets by digital technologies and business innovation. Prior to joining HP, Doug was a management consultant and also an early team member at Shutterfly, Inc, a pioneer in enabling Internet and mobile-based manufacturing and retailing of personalize products and services. Doug began his career as an Agent Trainee in the mail room of Hollywood’s William Morris Talent Agency.
Doug received his MBA from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business and his JD from Duke University Law School. He has a B.A. in Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience from University of Colorado, Boulder.
