Yale ITS received the shipment of 5 HP Sprout Workstations for the Blended Reality Applied Research Project. We took one of the workstations to test out, while the others remain at West Campus. Once we unboxed the HP Sprout Workstation, we started scanning and testing all the features that it had to offer. The setup was simple and it is surreal how powerful this workstation is. I tried all the features, from scanning a document to 3D scanning a small football. One of the very cool features that I had a chance to use is the piano. I was able to play some songs and it sounded no different than an actual piano. Another cool feature is one of the apps preloaded into the HP Sprout, is able to scan currencies and tell you conversion rates, the history of the currency, and more. The HP Sprout boasts a ton of features and tools that will take time to test them all.
